About our client: Building Technologies is building a next-generation Casino Platform — fast, modular, and designed for multi-brand scalability. We’re building a Cloudflare Edge microservice platform powered by TypeScript, Workers, Durable Objects, D1, KV, and R2 — evolving beyond a legacy Lavarel PHP / AWS monolith toward real-time, low-latency scalability. We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer / Technical Lead to take ownership of backend and infrastructure development, drive architectural evolution, and gradually assume day-to-day technical leadership from the CTO.

The Role:

You’ll be the technical cornerstone of our backend systems — designing and implementing scalable, high-performance edge services. You’ll collaborate closely with the CTO and product teams to define backend strategy, lead key migrations, and ensure our platform delivers real-time, fault-tolerant experiences across gaming, content, and payment services.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Lead the development of edge-native backend services using TypeScript and the Cloudflare Edge stack (Workers, Durable Objects, D1, KV, R2, CI/CD).
• Architect and scale distributed microservices to replace legacy Laravel PHP components on AWS.
• Design and maintain APIs for authentication, content delivery, payments, and game integrations.
• Define and maintain CI/CD pipelines, testing standards, and deployment workflows.
• Integrate and maintain payment APIs (PSPs, crypto, or fiat gateways) ensuring compliance, reliability, and security.
• Demonstrate a proven ability to lead projects, make architectural decisions, and guide engineering direction.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend, design, and product teams to align technical and business goals.
• Build caching, monitoring, and failover mechanisms to ensure 99.9% uptime and platform stability.
• (Bonus) Possess experience within the Casino or iGaming industry.
