Playbook is supporting a confidential client in the search for an experienced and commercially driven Group CEO to lead a fast-growing international business through its next phase of expansion.
This is a high-impact executive leadership role with full responsibility for strategic direction, commercial performance, and operational scalability across multiple brands and markets. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership credentials, deep experience in regulated environments, and a proven track record of driving growth in complex, multi-jurisdictional businesses.
The Opportunity
As Group CEO, you will lead the overall direction of the business, working closely with shareholders and senior leadership to define strategy, deliver sustainable growth, and build a high-performing, scalable organisation.
This role requires a hands-on, execution-focused leader who can balance strategic oversight with commercial agility, operational discipline, and stakeholder confidence. You will play a central role in shaping the future of the group, strengthening its market position, and ensuring alignment across brands, functions, and geographies.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
Define and execute the long-term strategic vision across the group’s portfolio of brands and markets
Align group-level priorities with brand and market-specific growth strategies
Lead, develop, and mentor senior leadership teams across multiple jurisdictions
Build a high-performance culture centred on accountability, scalability, and commercial focus
Translate shareholder expectations into clear operational and growth plans
Commercial Growth
Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion across the business
Oversee acquisition, retention, CRM, and broader commercial performance at group level
Identify new market opportunities, launches, and strategic partnerships
Improve customer value, lifetime value, and overall commercial efficiency across brands
Partner, Platform & Operational Oversight
Manage key relationships with external suppliers, technology partners, and service providers
Oversee contract negotiations, commercial agreements, service levels, and delivery standards
Ensure platforms, systems, and operating models can support scale, localisation, and market requirements
Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to support innovation and growth
Compliance, Governance & Risk
Ensure the business operates in line with all relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks
Oversee risk management, governance, and internal control standards across jurisdictions
Work closely with legal, compliance, and regulatory stakeholders
Maintain operational resilience across critical business infrastructure and third-party relationships
Financial Leadership
Take full ownership of group P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance
Establish and monitor KPIs across brands and functions
Ensure robust reporting, performance management, and governance practices
Provide regular strategic and operational updates to the Board and shareholders
External Representation
Act as the primary executive representative to investors, regulators, and strategic partners
Build and maintain strong relationships across the wider industry ecosystem
Represent the business at key meetings, events, and strategic forums
Strengthen the group’s reputation as a trusted and high-performing operator in regulated markets
Candidate Profile
Experience
Proven experience in a senior executive leadership role within a regulated digital industry
Strong track record managing multi-brand and/or multi-market operations
Experience working with external platform, technology, or service providers
Demonstrated success operating across regulated and internationally diverse markets
Experience in emerging or high-growth markets would be considered an advantage
Skills & Competencies
Strong commercial acumen with a consistent track record of delivering growth and profitability
Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management capabilities
Data-led mindset with a hands-on, execution-focused approach
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, scale-up environment
Strong cross-cultural communication and leadership skills
